Cream Silk Partners With Edukasyon.ph to Launch Free Short Courses

Free online courses curated by industry experts from all over the world

Certainly, education and free online courses is the greatest equalizer.

Cream Silk, in partnership with Edukasyon.ph, the largest education technology platform in the country, launches its brand purpose campaign #ConditonedForGreater. This leap towards championing empowerment for the Filipina provides access to an online academy powered by learning platforms Google Digital Garage and Kadenza. Launched at Palacio de Memoria last January 29, ambassadors Pia Wurtzbach, Catriona Gray, Nadine Lustre and Heart Evangelista were present.

Armie Jarin-Bennett, president of Nine Media Corporation. Talked about the importance of small beginnings and rejections. She said it is a form of redirection. Before heading home and settling in the Philippines. Armie Jarin-Bennett worked for CNN International for almost two decades.  She started as a production assistant. She shares, “For those who are just starting out, please don't underestimate these entry-level jobs because they prepare you for greater, better things.” She adds, “Also it's one of my most important life lessons, that learning never, ever stops. It's constant, every day and many times a day.”

Meanwhile, Award-winning journalist Karen Davila conducted a panel discussion, which magnified the significance of education. She also shared the stage with Amina Aranaz-Alunan (SoFA Design Institute), Lynn Pinugu (Mano Amigo Philippines) and Pauline Suaco-Juan (CITEM).

On finding one's purpose, Pauline admits, “Looking back, and this wasn't always clear, I realized that my purpose has always been to champion Filipino talent.” It was a process of elimination coming from many facets of the media industry. For Lynn, it took years of comfort and eventually becoming a scholar in university to find her calling. “It got me thinking, there [are] so many kids in the Philippines and in the world who don't have that opportunity. Who certainly doesn't have that background. My motivation is always, what is a problem I can help solve?,” she shares. On the other hand, Amina's purpose was concretized upon observing that fashion manufacturers in the country kept importing international brands. She also mused, “I want to bring the Filipino brand to the global stage.”
