All of the Noise 2019: Music And Then Some

This year's All of the Noise schedule has a lot more in store apart from the live music

Known for producing and curating summer and year-end festivals alongside regular gigs around the metro,
The Rest is Noise (TRIN) is back with another year-ender more ambitious than its predecessors. This year’s
All of the Noise takes it up a notch, pairing a well-curated music showcase with industry talks and a music
market spread over a two-day span. We’ve previously raved about Saturday night’s stacked lineup, but now
let’s shed some light on the festival’s brand new additions, shall we?

Music Talks

We’ll be kicking things off with Music Talks where industry professionals share their insights about the trends and ideas that govern the music business in the digital age. It’s another way of taking a look at aspects of the industry that are often overlooked, like what goes into promoting artists, booking tours and penetrating a competitive global market, among others.

In the spirit of gaining and sharing perspectives from across Asia, the lineup consists of both homegrown and
international speaker: Weining Hung from Taiwan (founder of LUCfest and international manager for rising acts Phum Viphurit, ADOY, and Mellow Fellow); Piyapong “Py” Muenprasertdee from Thailand (co-founder of Fungjai, a Bangkok-based startup that connects artists and their fans via online and offline avenues like streaming; concerts, and a music magazine); David Siow from Singapore (bassist from one of the night’s headliners M1LDL1FE and president of SGMUSO, a non-profit supporting the thriving Singaporean music industry via music export and events production); and Evan Murray from Canada (musician and coordinator for Live at Heart, a global music business conference). In our corner we have Camille Castillo (Philippine representative and editorial director for Bandwagon Asia, the leading independent music media company in Southeast Asia) and Lambert Cruz (program director and DJ for JAM 88.3, the premier radio station for local independent and alternative music), who will also be moderating the morning’s discussions.

With such a diverse panel, it’ll surely be refreshing to hear about the feats and challenges specific to their
respective countries.

Before the Noise

Before the actual concert begins, attendees can mingle with musicians, industry professionals, personalities, and fellow music enthusiasts over drinks and cocktails, with guest bands and DJs to boot at Before the Noise, an evening mixer.

AOTN Feature Acts

Apart from the main lineup, featured acts are also set to take the stage come showcase night. TRIN opened applications months prior and came out with a handpicked selection of four local acts: Imelda, Nights of Rizal and The One Pesos, Pikoy, and Submission. These selected acts also get a chance to sit down with the Music Talks panel for their own exchange of ideas!

Music Trade

This isn’t just your typical flea market, it might as well be audiophile heaven. Taking place on the second and last day of the festival, the Music Trade is a space for entrepreneurs to sell and share their wares. With a curated lineup of merchants and concessionaires including Linya Linya, The Four Strings, various independent and major record labels, and even music organizations from different universities, attendees are bound to find and take home something that piques their interest.
