The newest flagship series is out! A long hellooooooo to the Oppo Reno
First things first: What is a creative?
I read this piece once that stated a creative is an artist, an individual and a thought leader; someone that creates art, colors outside the lines and isn’t afraid to break the rules. By this definition, I wasn’t a creative until about three years ago.
Before then, my parents would get little notes to say that I was doing well in math classes. Not once were they called in for any behavior that indicated I had colored outside the lines of that Catholic-school-girl illustration. In high school, my economics teacher told me I should consider a career in the field—and I did; I studied it in a not-so-little university along Taft Avenue. I followed the schedule and I graduated just a term behind (and only because I couldn’t enroll in one class).
Since I’ve shifted careers, I’ve slowly started to learn to call myself a creative. But truth be told, I was writing long before I got published. My audience just of the intimate variety.

Last month, the OPPO Reno and the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom officially made it to Philippine shores—great news for official creatives and not-so-official creatives all around. After all, it was built believing that creative freedom and artistic expression should be within everyone’s grasp.
The highlight of the series, as the name suggests, are the following: 10x Hybrid Zoom, Wide Angle and Ultra Night Mode. But let’s get specific, yeah? Get ready for some specs, fam.
The OPPO Reno comes a 48MP plus an additional 5MP PDAF. Impressive stuff until you hear that the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom ups the ante with a full-focal-length triple camera system featuring 48MP (IMX586), 8MP (wide angle) and 13MP (telephoto). It also features a first in the smartphone industry: 10x Hybrid Zoom and 60x Digital Zoom.
Both devices are fit with AMOLED screens (no notch here, y’all), with the OPPO Reno and OPPO Reno 10x Zoom sporting 6.4- and 6.6-inch displays and powered by the Snapdragon 710 and Snapdragon 855 chipsets, respectively. The two come with Ultra Night Mode 2.0, Color Mapping, 4K video and Dolby Atmos speakers, while the 10x Zoom adds Audio 3D and Audio Zoom for true-to-life content.
Plus: 256GB ROM and VOOC 3.0 fast charging.
They say everyone’s a content creator these days. And while this does hold some bearing, why not stand out in a crowd full of haphazardly-taken photos? Time to unleash that inner photographer—that inner creative—no matter who your audience is.
The OPPO Reno and OPPO Reno 10x Zoom are available through Globe and Smart this month. Time to pick your poison.
