We Got Our Hands On The Realme 10. Here’s What You Need To Know

Impressive features and pretty? The realme 10 definitely has our attention

Being a mobile first nation, it’s no surprise we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to smartphone options. And the options are not just competitive in design and features but in price point, too. This is especially true for the relatively young smartphone brand, realme, who managed to get comfortable in the top spot as the Philippines’ number one smartphone brand for six straight quarters.

Hot on the heels of the successful realme 9 series, the brand has introduced a new number series starting with the realme 10. We got our hands on it early and in holographic Clash White so we can tell you what the fuss is all about.

The Specs

Still best in value, realme’s latest mid-range phone is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 Processor, a 90Hz Super AMOLED Display and a 5000mAh Battery with 33W SUPERVOOC Charge. It also boasts a 50MP Color AI Camera, a 200% UltraBoom Speaker and Expandability up to 1TB. What’s more, the realme 10 is available in 8GB+128GB and the 8GB+256GB storage variants.

All that is packed in a 7.95mm Ultra-Slim Light Particle Design, which comes in two stunning colorways: Clash White and Rush Black. Impressive features and pretty? realme definitely has our attention.

The Experience

Because of what’s under the hood—the MediaTek Helio G99 Processor and a power-efficient battery—users can expect butter-smooth performance and longer battery life for uninterrupted gaming, streaming videos or music, or what have you. On battery life, should you run out of juice, don’t worry, it takes less than 30 minutes to get to 50%.

Personally, I used the realme 10 for leisure because you have to separate work from play, amirite? And when I say leisure, I mean playing mobile games and watching videos (okay, tutorials for better gameplay). And when you’re a little bit more than a casual gamer, you need a phone that doesn’t lag or restart mid-game because of slow display and unreliable connectivity. Fact: this actually happened to me during a Mobile Legends amateur tournament. Thankfully, that’s history, and so far, the realme 10 hasn’t let me down in the matches I’ve played.

Color quality is also important, especially if you plan to use this phone for shooting content. With a 90Hz Super AMOLED Display, you can expect crisp colors, sharper display and better viewing angles.

Wait, what about the camera? The realme 10 comes with a high-resolution 50MP Color AI Camera paired with Nightscape and Street Mode 2.0 suitable for varying moods and aesthetics. It also boasts a 16MP Selfie Camera with improved UI for better selfies.

Now visual and sonic experience go hand in hand, and I’m happy to report the 10’s 200% UltraBoom Speaker doesn’t disappoint. Its single downward-firing speaker is optimized and designed to produce loud and clear audio without sounding like a tin can. So gaming aside, it’s up to par for solo listening parties featuring Blaster Silonga’s My Kosmik Island Disk album or Wonder’s RUSS playlist.

On functionality and storage, the realme 10 features Triple Card Slots: two for sim cards and another for a micro-SD Card expandable up to 1TB. It also comes with expandable RAM via Virtual RAM technology up to 5GB with Dynamic RAM Expansion for better, smoother switching between apps and tasks.

The Verdict

If you ask me, the realme 10 gets two thumbs up for functionality and style. In the few weeks I’ve used the device for play, it delivered on its promise: great performance, a battery that can keep up with my demands, impressive audio and visuals, a decent camera, extra features available should I ever need it—all that at a very competitive price point.
