Tune Out and Tune In With realme Buds Air 2

With everyone learning, working, and doing everything from home, realme buds will help us get in the zone

It’s been over a year since the world went into lockdown. You’d think by now we’d all be used to learning, working, and doing everything from home with family. The lack of distance from our loved ones aside. The sounds at home have become noise to everyone who needs peace and quiet. During work or a zoom meeting. Thankfully, the options are plenty. Among them, I had the chance to try out the newest realme Buds Air 2. Launched alongside the realme C25, the Buds Air 2 (as well as the Buds Air 2 Neo). Latest highly competitive active noise-canceling earbuds.

Imagine this: you, struggling to pay attention in class because of the clatter of pots and pans in the kitchen because it’s almost lunchtime. Or you, repeating, “I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that” in nearly every virtual meeting because the kids are either actively participating in an online class or playing in the background. Never have we needed a pair of truly active noise-canceling earbuds more than now—especially if you live in a small space. Here's what realme can offer you.

What’s New With the Buds Air 2

The Buds Air 2 is equipped with the new Bass Boost+ bass enhancement solution, something realme worked on with electronic music duo, The Chainsmokers. The device also comes with Transparency Mode, which allows users to listen to ambient sound with just a click. Equally important is fast charging capability, which the Buds Air 2 possesses. Who doesn’t like a gadget that works just as hard as you do? One can use the pair for 2 hours of playback with just a 10-minute charging time. But, I'll be honest: while this was true for the first few times I used the device, I’ve had to charge it longer recently. Perhaps it’s the hours-long meetings that burn the battery faster?

As for design, the all-new realme buds maintain the sleek and curvy silhouette of its predecessor. But this time, the buds adopt a two-toned colorway: black and blue (Active Black), and silver and white (Calm Gray).

#NoiseOffrealmeOn

It’s been over two weeks since I first used the Buds Air 2. I had gotten used to the fit and sound of the first pair of realme earbuds. But while the original was good, its successor is better in so many ways. The size is perfect for my ears and stays on (the Buds Q has a tendency to fall off depending on the activity) through meetings, yoga sessions and meditations. Connectivity is fast and swift; just don’t forget to unpair should you want to use it with other devices like I do (I switch between laptop and mobile too many times a day). But once it connects, it plays back whatever you were listening to or automatically becomes the primary source of sound for online class or meetings. The quality of sound is clear while its noise-canceling feature actively and effectively melts away the noise in the background. But I best appreciate the Buds Air 2 when listening to music as I work behind my desk. It helps me tune out and really get in the zone.

The realme Buds Air 2 have been my go-to earbuds since. I don’t think I’ll be looking or reaching for another pair anytime soon. Everything I need is right here: perfect fit, ease of use, rich audio experience and most importantly, active noise cancellation (of up to 25dB if you want to be technical about it).

Now if that’s what you’re looking for, you can get the realme Buds Air 2 for P3,990 on Lazada or Shopee.
