Let’s be honest. In every celebration, potluck or dinner, steak often takes the title as the main course. It's the star of the show. At each buffet, people make a beeline just to experience its juicy and tenderness oozing with many flavors. But, of course, many of us often reserve steak for special occasions that require splurging. Worry not, because Singapore’s ASTONS Specialties has finally landed in the Philippines, offering affordable steaks without scrimping on the quality.
The idea behind ASTONS Specialties began with the founder, Aston Soon, who aimed to bring quality Western cuisine to the masses at easy-on-the-pocket price points. In 2005, ASTONS Specialties opened its first branch in the island city of Singapore. Years later, they’ve expanded with affiliations with nine other brands. Their newest expansion is their first-ever branch in the Philippines, the flagship store at SM Megamall’s MEGA ATRIUM.

One of the popular dishes from ASTONS Specialties is its signature charbroiled steak, of course, which can be grilled according to your preferred doneness. Their grillwork chicken chops are nothing short of juicy, coming in various flavors and packed with savory tastes that will have you happily digging in. ASTONS Specialties also offers seafood options for all sorts of palates. Enjoy all their offerings with a choice of two sides, such as their signature Tasty Rice and Baked Potato. They also serve different pasta dishes to bring more dishes to everyone. According to founder Aston Soon, the menu has “something for everyone.”

What makes ASTONS Specialties steaks cut above the rest? During the media event, Aston Soon breaks it down. First, they respect the meat’s quality as it is. Next, the special flavoring and spices they brush onto the meat right before they put it on the grill. Lastly, ASTONS Specialties uses a unique grill that equally distributes the heat across the slab, bringing the meat’s quality to another level. It’s evident that Soon knows his way with beef; it's a long-standing testament to why ASTONS has become a well-loved chain in Singapore. He hopes that they get to do the same in the Philippines.

Launching in the country has already been in the works before the pandemic. But much like many plans, these were thwarted when the pandemic hit. Nonetheless, the local team preparing its arrival worked hard to make it happen amid restrictions. Part of this is working hard to ensure that the crew, the suppliers and the overall quality of ASTONS Specialties Philippines are up to par with its Singaporean counterparts.
On the horizon, ASTONS Specialties plans to expand further in the country with three more branches in the works. Safe to say that we’ll be eating our wild, wild hearts out a lot more!
