Here’s a First Look at the Acts We’ll Be Seeing at Cinco de Mayhem

You wonā€™t be disappointed

Itā€™s the era of the music festival. We know, at this point, weā€™re pretty much stating the obvious. Thereā€™s Coachella getting more explosive each year, Wanderland to keep us excited on the local scene, Fyre to show us exactly what a festival shouldnā€™t be like. This year, thereā€™s a promising new festivity setting off a blip on our radar.

We all know what Cinco de Mayo is, but most of us donā€™t bother celebrating it. Coming in hot, Cinco de Mayhem is about to change that.

Taking cues from Mexicoā€™s spirited May 5th celebrations, Cinco de Mayhem brings that colorful energy to Philippine shores and marries it with distinct Pinoy flair. Put those together, and what do we get? A weekend of music, drinks and just the right kind of mayhem.

Happening on May 4, 2019 at the Vista Mall Daang Hari Open Grounds, the kick-off year of this annual festival has our expectations set high. With 1.5 hectares of space for its first run, thereā€™s undoubtedly going to be plenty to keep us busy. The thing weā€™re most excited about, though, is easily the star-studded line-up of performers.

The DJ Line-up

With the abundance of clubs and venues in the Metro, it isnā€™t hard to come by DJā€™s who can get you up on your feet and in the mood to dance. But gathering the hottest and most in-demand DJā€™s for a single event? Now thatā€™s a feat. Get ready for long hours of electric beats and seamless mixing care of Divine Smith, Nix Damn P, Euric and Deuce.

Kiana Valenciano

Itā€™s been a long time coming for Kiana Valenciano. We know the girl has the pipes and the stage presence, but her first full-length album released last month solidified that with ten versatile tracks: some funky, some upbeat, a few collaborations with her friends, and all worthy of a spot on your playlist. Her next stop: the Cinco de Mayhem stage.

Quest

With so many youngbloods casting ripples left and right, standing the test of time is arguably becoming a more difficult feat for musicians. Despite this, Quest, a proudly homegrown singer, songwriter and rapper, proves that he stands the test of time just fine. Heā€™s hitting nine years in the music industry, after all. Watch him take the stage with his latest single, Sasamahan Kita.

Home to the likes of Nadine Lustre, Sofia Romualdez, KingwAw, Massiah, Astro Kidd and Curtismith, thereā€™s a reason why this collective of Insta-ready cool kids is hot on everyoneā€™s tongues. Slated for a collective 45-minute set, see how these guys conquer the festival stage over the Cinco de Mayhem weekend.
