Here’s What We Want to See in American Horror Stories

Fear takes new form in the spin-off series of “American Horror Story”

From Murderhouse to Asylum, Cult and more, American Horror Story has changed the horror genre for everyone. Fear takes new form in a twisted, new anthology horror drama series from AHS creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.

American Horror Stories, premiering on July 15, features 16 hour-long, standalone episodes “delving into horror myths, legends and lore,” as announced by Murphy on Twitter in November of last year. Notable American Horror Story alums Matt Bomer, Billie Lourd, Naomi Grossman and John Carroll Lynch will be returning.

Ahead of the release, newcomers to the American Horror Story universe were revealed. The roster includes Riverdale star Charles Melton, Glee veteran Kevin McHale, Pose‘s Dyllón Burnsid and The Prom‘s Nico Greetham. Other personalities like Paris Jackson and Kaia Gerber will also be joining the cast.

As big American Horror Story fans, we’re looking forward to the brand new thrilling anthology. Naturally, we also have some spinoff hopes and predictions.

If we’re talking about folklore, different cultures all around the world offer terrifying characters. Draw from the Philippines’ mysterious manananggal, aswang and white lady, just to name a few. Even the Japanese folk legend of Okiku gave birth to the successful The Ring series that gave us nightmares in our youth. If we’re talking about something more “festive,” Krampus, a horned, anthropomorphic figure from Alpine folklore is worth a standalone episode.

There’s no hurting a ‘90s throwback with urban legends in campus, maybe getting inspiration from the ingeniously crafted I Know What You Did Last Summer and, you guessed it, the 1998 feature film Urban Legend.

With the resurfacing of the Black Lives Matter movement last year, we’re also not closing our doors to race-themed horror stories ala Jordan Peele’s Get Out and Us

The question we all have now is if we’re seeing some of our favorite characters from American Horror Story. Will this new series be a continuation of the previous seasons? We’re bound to find out this July 15 with American Horror Stories, exclusively on FX on Hulu.
