UP CASTELLATIONS 32 recognizes local filmmakers and musicians
Tangkilikin ang sariling atin—this is one of the many life lessons I’ve learned as a student in my university’s College of Liberal Arts (or Kolehiyo ng Malalayang Sining, as we like to call it). From Kidlat Tahimik to Jose Joey Reyes, we’re taught to appreciate the range of Philippine cinema, and are challenged to expand it further. We are trying to live up to the presumption that the future of cinema is in our hands, which is more attainable when we support one another.
The College of Mass Communication at UP Diliman highlights the importance of a supportive community for upcoming filmmakers and musicians. In its 32nd year, student organization UP Cinema Arts Society brings us CASTELLATIONS 32 to celebrate local cinema and music. The event serves as an avenue for the members to showcase their films, and for local bands to share their music.
Time to mark our calendars for November 26, 2022! CASTELLATIONS 32 will take place in P3K Restobar, Cubao at 7PM.
Here are the five featured films that we're looking forward to see:
Happy Birthday Mylene! 2023 Ka Na.

Jocy is walking home to celebrate her daughter’s birthday when she crosses paths with Huana on an overpass. She tells her friend about her recent nightmare, and while Huana tells Jocy to move on from it, the two women soon find themselves living the dream's mysteries.
Karmic Heist (Almost A)
Directed by Jude Lim
Moments until his performance and after selling his soul to a demon, an aspiring musician deals with the conflicting voices in his head. One that belongs to a demon and another that belongs to a judge.
Recuerdo
Directed by Bane Vicente
A young man loses his father in their home country. He flies back to clean his now-abandoned childhood home, as he reminisces on memories that his old items bring.
Expecting All the Wrong Things
Directed by Zoella Dean
Tired from the pressure of preparing for and passing the final exams, two friends share a table with their blockmates at a bar. The night is young and there are still bottles to finish. The group continues on, unaware of the adventure that awaits them and how alcohol will affect the outcome of their night.
Sa Kalagitnaan
Directed by Julia Rafallo
The late night is prolonged when two women meet at a jeepney stop and share a drink while talking about their lives.
Celebrating the arts doesn’t stop there! UP CAST knows how to honor the local scene with this generation’s OPM artists. Sing your heart's out to Any Name’s Okay, known for their vibrant beats in songs like Clouds and Vivid. Newly minted Paprika! is set to showcase their disco and funk beats in their latest single, Excited. The night will get even better with performances from Purple n’ Oranges and Mijon, as well as sets from soloists Stef Aranas and she.cries.
It’s never too late to grab tickets! Purchase yours online from P300 (without beer) or P350 (with beer) here, and you might just win CASTELLATIONS merch!
