What Went Down At The KonsultaMD Mental Health Concert feat. Nadine, Ben&Ben and Curtismith

It was a reminder for us all to #BeKindToYourMind

As the years have gone by, the conversation on mental health have gotten louder and—perhaps more importantly—more casual. And if the last months of staying home (as often as we can) have taught us, it’s that we need to take care of all aspects of our health

Which is why, on the weekend of October 10, we marked World Mental Health Day. Its goal is to raise awareness on international mental health issues, and gives companies, individuals and organizations the opportunity to speak out on and do what needs to be done. Everything in the effort to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.

On October 9, telehealth provider KonsultaMD joined the challenge to raise awareness on and address mental health with a free online concert. As Cholo Tagaysay, KonsultaMD’s CEO notes, the Philippines has come a long way in its understanding of mental health, but there is still work to be done. “More often than not, what stops a patient from seeking professional help for their mental health is the shame or stigma, that it’s admitting to weakness,” he explains further. “But what we want Filipinos to know is that seeking help is actually a form of strength. That’s why we at KonsultaMD remain committed [to] making consultations accessible to those who need it through our programs platforms.”

The concert that featured the likes of Nadine Lustre, Curtismith, Ben&Ben and DJs Nix Damn P and Marvelous was held on KonsultaMD’s Facebook page, and acted as the culminating program of a month-long campaign titled Be Kind To Your Mind.

The fight for mental health isn’t over and the conversations need to happen beyond October 10, and KonsultaMD is well aware of this—which is why they’ve given us access to mental health professionals through their telehealth services.

All you have to do is download the app on Google Play, the App Store or the Huawei App Gallery. Then tap “Mental Health Support,” fill in the requested details and click “Enter Waiting Room” to speak to a doctor.
