Everything You Missed At Sinulog 2023

Everything You Missed At Sinulog 2023

Sinulog celebrations are back—in a big way

A few years ago, Sinulog was the place to be. My peers planned everything around it—leaves from work, pet sitters, their Christmas bonus—all so they could experience everything that it had to offer. But as it did with most things, the pandemic changed that and our collective focus shifted to more pressing matters like survival.

But this year is different—we all vowed it would be—and it began with Sinulog 2023, aptly called Sinulog sa Crossroads

For three days, Sinulog 2023 was a display of culture, music, arts and local love. Starting with a ribbon cutting at Makers’ Market, the energy didn’t dip down at any moment that weekend of January 13-15.

Markers’ Market featured 12 local brands—Bastinuod, Happy Garaje, Redeemed Tattoo, Limoncello, Peligro, Doris Doodles, Havoc Cebu, Beastly, Azalea, Martian Lunchbox, Screampaints and UP FASO—that produced items by local artisans, crafters and small businesses.

As Jeaun Tolsa, Crossroads Cebu Marketing Manager, notes: “Sinulog sa Crossroads was a celebration of our community, culture, and traditions. It was a chance for us to unite and showcase homegrown talents and products while honoring the spirit of Sinulog in a unique and exciting way. We are thrilled to be able to provide a platform that allowed them to make an impression on our vibrant community.”

What followed was XRoads, a gathering of some of the hottest local acts from Cebu’s music scene, including The Spirals, Coney Reyes on Camera, Cosmic Kid, Luxxx, Kubra Commanders, Hourswekeep, Awkward Dancer and the Harmless Devils, Deanery, Karma, The Pervs, Folding Bed, Alah Ahkbar, Hollywood Folk Hogan and Wanderbattle 2020 champion, The Sundown.

As things started to wind down, Sinulog 2023 goers enjoyed a sunset cookout to the beats of DJ Libya Montes—while they dined and shopped, of course.

GOMO, a member of the Globe Group, served as Sinulog 2023’s primary partner.

Sinulog sa Crossroads was co-presented by PRWorks, Inc., Lila Events and From Here Cebu. Community partners include Redeemed Tattoo, Distillery, Skin Logistics and Koda & Co., while Wonder and FreebieMNL served as media partners. Collaborators and sponsors were John Bottles Events, Counterflow Productions, PAWN Records and GUINTO Event Solutions.
