INTERACTION#9 fuses together the trademark elements of each brand
Since Spring 2019, A.P.C. and friends have made fashion collaborations extra fun to watch out for. Through its INTERACTIONS series, the French label helmed by Jean Touitou has brought in the likes of Kid Cudi, Carhartt WIP, Catherine Deneuve, Brain Dead and Goop. And now, it adds Japanese brand Sacai to its lineup.
The final product is an INTERACTION that fuses two different worlds together, giving rise to the experimental hybrid “SA.P.C.AI.”

INTERACTION#9 puts the focus on uniting the iconic materials of each brand, giving A.P.C.’s star clothing, denim, a nice upgrade. “This Interaction is a precise illustration of how A.P.C. and Sacai came together, interweaving diverse elements of language to achieve a sort of crossbreed that represents the style of our two brands,” explains Jean Touitou about his collaboration with Chitose Abe. “These pieces are unusual for us, as they push the limits of what we might call ‘wearability’ as far as possible.”

The joining of trademark elements can be seen in the brands’ approach to denim trousers, denim jackets, the denim dress and the denim tote bag. Jersey is another medium upgraded by Sacai, too, applied to the classic A.P.C. tees and sweatshirts with an added zipper effect. “[These] are the fruit of a long process of creative deconstruction and reconstruction,” adds Touitou. “We got enormous pleasure from seeing clothing being taken apart and redesigned.”
An essentially unisex offering, SA.P.C.AI carries sizes XXS through XL. Shop INTERACTION#9 at UNIVERS d’homme et femme located at One Rockwell and The Shoppes at Solaire.
