Here’s what we’re lusting over in the beauty department on women’s month
Heads up: March is here! Despite the month’s brisk arrival, we can’t say it isn’t welcome—not when it signals two things: (A) the first licks of the warm summer season and (B) the beginning of women’s month. We don’t know about you, but we’re plenty excited for both these things, and even more so for the beauty launches they bring with them.
Up ahead, we spotlight the beauty launches, products and services we’re most excited for this month.

Essentials for a No Worries Kind of Summer: Beauty Bar
Every time summer rolls around, Beauty Bar rounds up an assemblage of products and deems them essential for the warmer months—and every time, I wholeheartedly believe them. Home to an extensive line-up of local and international beauty brands, Beauty Bar continues to expand their roster with each passing season.
In the spotlight this summer are five brands to take us across the globe. There’s Ecococo, an Australian brand that hinges on what might be the very essence of summer in potent, liquid form: coconut oil. Hei Poa brings Polynesian culture to the fore with Tahiti Monoi, or multipurpose perfumed oil—ideal for everything from moisturizing to after-sun care. Speaking of multipurpose elixirs: there’s Dr. Pawpaw, which spotlights the nude, pink and coral iterations of their fix-all balm for the summer. Not Your Mother’s Naturals, a Beauty Bar favorite, serves up three new nature-focused lines of hair care products, while global fragrance brand Miss Kay takes us from the poolside to the seven seas with a sweeping line of themed fragrances.
Miss U-ready Lashes: Ayumi Eyelash[one-third-first][/one-third-first] [one-third][/one-third] [one-third][/one-third]
I don’t know if it’s because of an unannounced change in formula or my eye area getting oilier as we approach the summer months, but lately my favorite drugstore mascara has been missing the mark. Instead of long-lasting volume, these days all I’ve been getting are dark splotches under my eyes. All hesitation to kiss my half-used tube goodbye is gone now, though, after an eye-opening afternoon with Ayumi Eyelash, the official eyelash and nails partner of Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
Paralleling Japan’s biggest eyelash company, Ayumi offers a variety of lash extension services. Among Ayumi’s offerings are the natural-looking Classic Extension, which involves the attachment of one sable lash to one natural eyelash; 5D Lashes, which creates the illusion of fuller lashes by adding five sable lashes to every natural eyelash; and the novel Ange Curl, which makes use of a premium lifting serum.

Pouf! Fragrances by The Everyday
While there’s definitely merit in having a signature scent to call your own, who doesn’t love playing things by ear every now and then? Toni Gonzaga and Winnie Wong—the founders of The Everyday—give us the chance to do just this with their latest release: Pouf!, a trio of fragrances. With a name inspired by women’s headdresses in the late 18th century and later on the magic word uttered by magicians when performing illusions, the Pouf! fragrances were formulated to give their wearer that extra touch of personality.
The line comprises three scents, each inspired by a different time of day. Rise, the lightest of the three, is a light and citrusy fragrance reminiscent of the first glimpses of morning sunlight. Bloom, the afternoon scent and the liveliest of the trio, features notes of jasmine and lychee. Dusk, on the other hand, is most fitting for the evenings with touches of sage, lavender and sandalwood.
Senka Perfect Whip Collagen In Cleansing Foam
Gone are the days of asking relatives in Japan to hoard Senka products for our pasalubong loot. Since Shiseido brought two variations of Japan’s #1 facial cleanser to Philippine shores—the classic Perfect Whip Foam and the Perfect White Clay Deep Cleansing Foam—the brand has quickly become a hit among local skincare enthusiasts.
This month, Senka brings J-beauty aficionados and lovers of a nice, thorough cleanse good news: There’s a new Perfect Whip formulation in town. The Perfect Whip Collagen In Cleansing Foam takes all the things we love about Senka’s classic cleanser—the dense foam, the silk essence and double hyaluronic acid compound—and takes them the extra step further with beauty serum and collagen, both of which increase skin elasticity and do away with signs of aging.
