Converse #CreateNext Pop-up Manila: Art, Music and Style Take Center Stage

Converse celebrates its #CreateNext campaign with a pop-up party at Kondwi

Converse’s enduring legacy in the world of fashion is indisputable. Whether it’s style giants telling us that Chuck 70s will never go out of style or our collective memories of writing lyrics on our soles, the footwear brand has made a lasting impact. The brand recognizes its position and uses that to spotlight the next generation of creative forces, pushing them to cement their purpose with the campaign #CreateNext.

It’s been a couple of years since Converse got everyone together. So to celebrate their major #CreatNext campaign, the brand gathered young creatives for a night where art, music and style took center stage at Kondwi PH. The Converse #CreateNext Pop-up in Manila had murals and street art lining the walls, a dedicated spot where guests could customize their totes and a crowd-favorite tattoo station from The Moon Room. I mean, who doesn’t love getting fresh ink?

There to match their energy was a fantastic set of forces in the music industry, including DJ Kat, Hoest and DJ Kate Hagdon. Sibling duo Ysanygo also charmed everyone with their hits, while Timmy Albert serenaded the crowd. Finally, Juan Karlos and his band closed the lineup of performances with an electric rendition of Buwan, sending everyone off in high spirits.

The party wasn't complete with a couple of fresh drops. So Converse took the chance to launch new offerings the brand’s long-time followers can soon cop.

The Chuck 70s Plus is a refreshing new take on the iconic silhouette. Spliced, chopped and—quite literally—elevated, these shoes add a dash of uniqueness to the iconic original. Meanwhile, the newest Run Star Legacy CX is another chunky platform silhouette to join the roster. This new release reinvents the Run Star Motion and Run Star Hike shapes with a pared-back version of the thick sole, made of rubber and woven fabric labels for better utility and comfort.

Lastly, Converse also announced their second collaboration with Keith Harring. This apparel collection features tees with the artistic visionary’s iconic designs. If anything, it’s perfect for those seeking to let creativity spark their style.

So keep your eyes peeled for more celebration of music, art and fashion through Converse’s #CreateNext.
