Our Favorite Paris Couture Week Pair: North West x Balenciaga

Meet the newest street style icon North West.

A post shared by Kim Kardashian (@kimkardashian)

We all know Kim Kardashian has forged a close relationship with Balenciaga and Demna (thanks to Ye). But despite walking the runway for Paris Couture Week, we’d like to argue that her eldest daughter North West stole the show from her mother. Throughout the trip, North West favors the Crocs x Balenciaga HardCrocs throughout, pairing it with oversized statement jackets (such as an old piece from Ye’s Pastelle clothing line) and slouchy denim. Plus, she always seems to bring around mini Balenciaga bags and top her look with sleek sunglasses. Like mother like daughter, they say, but Nori’s already carving out her own style. Safe to say that the amount of fashion headlines about Nori’s impeccable taste will continue to grow.

The divide between fashion and tech continues to dissipate, especially with the rise of virtual spaces, cryptocurrency and NFTs. Last March, Decentraland launched the first-ever Metaverse Fashion Week. Even in PMFF Season 13, Renan Pacson explored a virtual presentation called Meta Filipina. Now, Karlie Kloss teams up with five designers to design five pop-up shops in Roblox. Think: avatar skins touching upon “futuristic gothic,” Western Cowboy wear and even Rococo architecture-inspired pieces. The exclusive partnership, called the Fashion Klossette Designer Showcase, delivers different styles and virtual fashion pieces players can shop via the Roblox platform. But much like limited-edition drops, the collection will only be available from July 12 to 15. So it seems extreme exclusivity in purchases also made it to the Metaverse.

Dior Withdraws Its 100K-Euro Demand To Valentino

The battle over Valentino’s Rome show and Dior’s blocked-off boutique ends.

In case you missed another fashion headline from Paris Couture Week, Valentino went above and beyond by holding its couture show in Rome’s Spanish Steps. But Dior, who has a boutique in the vicinity, demanded a € 100,000 compensation from the maison. They cited in the demand letter that the Valentino show blocked customers from reaching their store, lowering the foot traffic to literally none. The lack of hustle and bsutle comes as extremely unusual for a Friday afternoon. The letter demands the amount payable for the two weeks before they take the issue to court. But according to Reuters, who sites an unknown source, Dior withdrew the demand in light of the Maisons’ “friendly relationship.”
