Juanito Maiquez, also known as Quiccs, is a self-made toy designer and graffiti artist who has found his unique style by combining Japanese robot characters with hip-hop culture. He launched his original line of custom-designed toys under the brand Hidden Fortress and has been creating with them as an independent toy producer since 2012. Quiccs also co-owns the commercial design firm Burnwater and represents international graffiti crews such as the Zinc Nite Crew, Three Flare Crew and Filipina’s Street Plan.

The Quiccs x adidas collaboration was always fated for the iconic toy designer. Quiccs has been supporting the brand since his teen years. He even grew up wearing the iconic Superstar sneakers and incorporates the famous three stripes onto his toys, particularly the TEQ63.

Quiccs will forever be known as the first Filipino designer to collaborate with adidas in all of its 70-year existence. Not only has he brought his childhood dreams to life, but he has stamped an iconic brand with Philippine pride. The Quiccs Manila Tee features three designs, each with his signature best-selling character—TEQ63. The tees are released in limited quantities in select Adidas stores. Better hurry before stocks run out!

In an exclusive interview, Quiccs admits that he will be creating more merchandise for Adidas within the next two to three years. Other than the Manila Tee, he designed limited edition NantoTEQ toys exclusively released for the Superstar 50th anniversary last February, Girls are Awesome pack in July, Swarovski Superstar and Stan Smith in September. Most recently, Quiccs brought his art to life through the store design for the newly opened adidas Neighborhood store located in Greenbelt 5, Makati.
