Let Levi’s and a couple of yellow fellas help you bring your trippy visions to life
During one of my first memories of thrifting, I recall nabbing a nice denim jacket for way less than I would have paid in retail. Despite its cuffs appearing frayed and worn out, what stood out to me was its lovely red lotus patchwork at the back. But as I grew bigger than my college freshman body, I had to say goodbye to that steal of a jacket. I never really found one quite like it, nor could I even attempt to customize all my existing ones to replicate its effect. Doing a project on a pricey item sounds risky—I didn’t want to take a chance. But at least now, Levi’s owners who want to take a shot at personalizing their items don’t need to take on that risky DIY project. The Levi’s Tailor Shop can help you out!

Located in select stores, the Levi’s Tailor Shop lets shoppers bring in their old and new pieces for alteration and customization services. From enduring jean pants to barely broken-in denim jackets, they can work on it! Aside from the usual cut, snip and tuck, the Tailor Shop offers paneling, patches and pins. The SM Mall of Asia branch has two exclusive services, too: embroidery and hand painting. So for the not-so-fearless ones who want to switch it up, Levi’s in-house tailors and staff can bring your visions to life.
Leave it to Levi’s to keep giving. The store brings out bins filled to the brim with different pins and patches. From Rolling Stones-themed patches to their regular Pride collection, Levi’s has enough designs for everybody. Yes, even for those who like the tropical, beachside aesthetic or want to wear their Pinoy heritage loudly. But perhaps the biggest highlight in the selection is their limited-edition items inspired by Minions: The Rise of Gru. Let out your inner devious weirdo by adding these to your pieces. From trippy and funny to lowkey, the Minions-themed patches add a burst of color to the denim. Prices for these patches range from P150 to P400 depending on the size.
From colorful textiles and minimalist prints, Levi’s also offers a wide selection of fabrics for those interested in paneling. Add it to your jacket collars or pockets for extra personalization. In all honesty, it can be difficult to choose which fabric to add to your items—just like the patches—because the possibilities are endless. So if you’re the indecisive type, I highly recommend planning a little before heading to the Levi’s Tailor Shop. If not, ask the staff for suggestions to help narrow your options down! If you plan to add fabrics, paneling begins at P150 depending on the area and size.
After planning where the patches, pins and panels will go, the staff will get the items, ring them up and queue them for the tailor to work on. Good work takes some time, so let them do their thing. While waiting, feel free to shop around Levi’s or to come back for your newly personalized item. After all, there’s no thrill like seeing your vision materialize right before your very eyes.
The other fantastic thing about the Levi’s Tailor Shop is that you can come again and again to get your items personalized. So if you need to zhuzh up your jackets once more or have denim tags replaced for a special occasion, Levi’s will help you turn those denim dreams into realities.
What are you waiting for? Bring in your Levi’s items to your nearest Tailor Shop. And if you haven’t gotten a Levi’s item yet—this is your sign to cop one now.
