It’s fashion month. Even better news? Retrograde ends this September!

For as long as I can remember, September has always been celebrated as fashion month—it’s the January of fashion if you will. It’s when young and seasoned designers from major fashion cities around the world present the spring/summer-fresh collections of tomorrow. But while I love a showcase of creativity and discovering new and emerging talents, I’m mostly glad that the three-week retrograde ends this month. The new season invites us to acknowledge feelings we’ve shelved, and find healthy ways to express and process them. After all, now is a good time to try and get clarity about what matters most and why.

Similar to fashion, you can treat September as your January and manifest what you want to bring forth and keep in your life. The same goes with the things you consume—let your favorite or new pair of shoes take you places, take extra care of your skin with tried and tested products that work, and live a little and indulge in some retail therapy.

Remember that it’s your life and you’re in control. Take the time to envision what it looks and feels like. And don’t be afraid to look good while doing so with some help from our favorite and featured brands ahead:

Melissa x Marc Jacobs

The two brands come together to create a limited edition sustainable footwear collection

Melissa and Marc Jacobs’ worlds collide to bring you a lightweight and sustainable capsule collection of fresh footwear. The collection features three designs—the Clog, the “Becky” platform sandal, and the Slide—that showcase the signature Marc Jacobs monogram print and color ways.

Melissa Clog + Marc Jacobs is comfortable and light thanks to its mono-material made of Biobased EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), a compound partially derived from sugarcane and has at least 25% vegetable content. Available in beige, black, blue and silver.

Melissa Becky + Marc Jacobs is made with Melflex, Melissa's 100% recyclable plastic, while the sole's interior is filled with ultralight PU (Polyurethane) and the insole is covered with fabric made from recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles. Available in beige, black, red and silver.

Melissa Slide + Marc Jacobs is developed using Melflex and features a sole made of 100% Biobased EVA. Available in beige, black, blue and red colors.

Anessa

Best in beauty, the Japanese label comes out with a new sun safe and skin-caring product that’s sure to achieve cult-status

Anessa, the number one sun care brand in Japan for the last 22 years backed by Shiseido, recently added the Anessa Day Serum SPF50+ PA++++ to its lineup. It's everything you need to get skin prepped and protected in the daytime. This day serum works as an emulsion and makeup primer, and offers UV protection in one bottle. But what makes it different is its UV essence equipped with “sun dual care” technology; one that not only protects from ultraviolet rays, but converts a portion of sunlight into “Beauty Beams” to give you moisturized and plump skin, too.

Anessa’s day serum is tinted pink to give skin a bright and rosy complexion, and is packed with skin-caring ingredients, like hyaluronic acid and water soluble collagen along with other flower and fruit extracts.

The Anessa Day Serum retails for P2,190 and is only available at LOOK Aura, LOOK MOA, Rustan's stores nationwide and Anessa Official Store on Lazada.

Beyond The Vines

The cool-girls and guys fave bag brand recently launched new colorways and even cuter, tinier bags

Beyond The Vines launched the highly anticipated, one-run only Colourblock Micro Dumpling Bag, which features five new vibrant colors. The bold combinations are Yellow/Blush, Maroon/Blue, Lilac/Spearmint, Navy/Grey and Cream/Blue, and come in XS, M and XL sizes. These cute and functional bags are still crafted from 100% water-resistant nylon and maintain beloved features, like an outer flap pocket, snap tab for easy access, magnetic closure, short handles and adjustable straps.

The design studio has also recreated a miniature world called “A Micro World.” So if you think the micro bags are adorable, wait until you see the tinier version or the “Teeny Tiny Micro Mini Colourblock Dumpling Bag.” Available in three colorways, the bag comes with a detachable, non-adjustable strap that can be worn around the neck and can fit items, like Apple AirPods comfortably. Each bag also comes with the smallest shopper tote: the Teeny Tiny Micro Mini Shopper Tote.
