Gucci Takes on Manga With the Doraemon X Gucci Collab
An early look at the brand’s upcoming Lunar New Year celebration
Gucci’s on a roll. First came the North Face collab and now, Creative Director Alessandro Michele returns with a full-blown tribute to the famous Japanese manga and anime character, Doraemon. Looking at the breadth of what the fashion house can create (and recreate), we’re always curious to know what comes next at Gucci.
But back to this uber-cute collaboration: it's all about Doraemon taking the stage of the new Gucci Lunar New Year campaign. In the release for both men and women, the pop icon is seen over Gucci’s famous GG motif and across other pieces like sneakers, scarves and sweaters. High fashion clashing with pop culture and nostalgia lives on.

Thinx Adds Period-Absorbing Activewear to Its Roster
Getting to work out without worrying about leaks? Yes, please
Period underwear brand Thinx has expanded its horizons, going beyond period-proof sleep shorts and looking into activewear. The latest drop covers the basics for gym wear bottoms, namely: training shorts, leggings, cycle shorts and a leotard available in black and one additional colorway. A sigh and a hallelujah for ladies who’ve had to constantly worry about leaks while working out on their period.
“In the last year we have seen tremendous adoption of period underwear; meaning more people know what they are, how they work, and that they can be a true alternative to disposable period products,” said Thinx, Inc. CEO Maria Molland in a press release. “Now with more consumers in the space, it’s the perfect time to expand the line into activewear. Whether you’re wearing them on your period for an at-home workout, or just wearing them while working from home, we hope this line becomes a regular part of people’s lives.”

HUGO BOSS Names Chris Hemsworth as the First Global Brand Ambassador for BOSS
He is the first Hollywood star to be appointed global brand ambassador and will be the international face of the brand for worldwide campaigns in 2021 and 2022
It was only natural: Thor star Chris Hemsworth had already been collaborating with HUGO BOSS, a partnership that began in 2017. But this venture also marks a new chapter for the brand. With the appointment of Hemsworth, whom the group regards as a “passionate surfer who epitomizes a well-balanced lifestyle,” HUGO BOSS considers this a step in the casualization of the BOSS brand. The first campaign starring Hemsworth comes out in spring.

H&M Announces Its Next Designer Collaborator: Simone Rocha
She is slated to release womenswear, menswear and children’s clothes
Fast fashion’s designer collaboration model is far from losing its charm. The #SimoneRochaxHM collection is a testament to that.
This would be the first time the London-based Irish designer opened up her brand to a fashion giant like H&M. A larger group of fashion fans, then, can soon get Simone Rocha pieces of their own that encapsulate the designer’s rich body of work. “The Simone Rocha x H&M collection includes her signature womenswear alongside menswear and kidswear, marking the first time she has offered a wardrobe for the whole family,” said the brand in an official statement. “All the garments are designed to be in conversation with each other. So, what to expect from this year's awaited collaboration? Delicate tulle dresses, tartan tailoring, beaded shirting, cable knits, outerwear such as trench coats and signature accessories like sparkling jewelry and pearl-embellished shoes.”
