Gucci Valigeria officially opens in Paris
The first-ever Valigeria permanent boutique stands tall at the heart of the City of Light
The young Guccio Gucci enjoyed his time at London’s The Savoy Hotel. Inspired by his observations of how travel bridged cultures, he headed to Florence to initiate his luxury luggage atelier in 1921. In the present time, Gucci has become a household name in the fashion industry and is a trailblazing force in the realm of luxury fashion. So to honor its origins birthed by travels, Gucci opens the first permanent Gucci Valligeria boutique at 229 Rue Saint-Honoré, Paris, France. The two-story space draws its influences from luxury travel during the Belle Époque, such as recreating a vintage railway carriage through dark and deep walnut woods and neutral-toned canvas upholstery and surfaces.
The Gucci Valigeria offers a curated collection of Gucci’s travel pieces, from totes, backpacks, duffels, garment bags, vanity cases, suitcases and even trunks. Many of the items found come from the Gucci Savoy collection, embodying many heritage-infused motifs such as the monogram, Double G hardware and Web stripe.
Miley Cyrus rings in 2023 decked in Gucci
The pop star dons a custom-made dress as she belts out, “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll”
Every year, Miley Cyrus always celebrates the end of one year with her beloved aunt, Dolly Parton. Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party on NBC has always been an affair to tune into, thanks to her iconic covers and guests who join them to celebrate a new beginning. So, of course, many anticipate her costume changes throughout the show. One of the striking looks from 2022 happened during their cover of Joan Jett and The Blackhearts’ I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll in matching black-and-leopard ensembles. Miley’s dress is actually a custom Gucci mini-dress, playing into 2022’s cut-out trends and pairing them with leopard-printed tulle opera gloves.
