Here’s How Stars Wore Fendi and Gucci at the Met Gala

A peek into other brands paying homage to the late Karl Lagerfeld

It’s been a few days since the Met Gala, with this year’s theme honoring the late designer Karl Lagerfeld who has deeply influenced Chanel, Fendi and the world of fashion. (Whether it’s for better or for worse, it’s up to you to decide.) The annual event remembered by its red carpet that houses the best looks, worst combinations and wildest moments added another notch to its belt. But we’re not here to talk about that, but rather highlight the way a few brands honored the man through their designs.

Gucci guest Jessica Chastain debuts her lovely blonde locks at the Met Gala, a sharp contrast to her sheer number. Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky rocks a tartan skirt over denim jeans and stacked G-belts. This look throws it back to Lagerfeld’s outfit for his 2004 Chanel runway show in Tokyo. But the accessory of the evening? His little smooch mark from Rihanna.

Meanwhile, guests dressed in Fendi took to the house’s archives and Lagerfeld’s love for soft pastels and feminine touches. Kate and Lila Moss have their matching mother-daughter moment as they’re accompanied by Kim Jones. Meanwhile, South Korea’s A-lister and The Glory actress Song Hye Kyo dons a satin couture gown.  She lets some Asian trends make an additional statement as her pin-straight hime cut bangs frame her elegant face.

Clarks opens a new concept store, highlight key pieces from Clarks Originals and Spring Summer 2023

Clarks Philippines opened a new concept store at Shangri-La Plaza Mall’s  East Wing, which exclusively carries select styles from Clarks Originals and the Spring Summer 2023 collection.

The Clarks Originals

Meet the Clarks Desert Boot inspired by a rough boot from Cairo’s Old Bazaar. It’s no secret that its minimal, progressive style sparked a worldwide footwear revolution. Every design detail today remains true to the original, still using the stitched down technique or stitching the upper material flat on an outsole. The result? Waterproof casual shoes.

Clarks Desert Trek is another iconic offering known for its laced-up look. The shoe is designed with a unique comfort shape, super-deconstructed suede uppers and matching rubber crepe soles. Up next is the heritage-inspired Tor Run sports shoe. Featuring a crepe sole, heel cup and lightweight insert, the piece is a mix of style and comfort. Last but not least is the Clarks Wallabee—a shoe that feels good to wear and easy to match. We’re glas that it now comes in different colors and patterns.

Spring Summer 2023

Clarks Torhill, in partnership with rising Philadelphia-based actor Jabari Banks, has made its debut. The new style showcases a streamlined, lace-up design that highlights its curves and contours the iconic Wallabee. Meanwhile this season’s ultimate kicks, Torhill Hi, is available in Dark Sand Suede, White Leather, Red Suede and Black Suede.

Another partnership launched in time for spring; this time with American designer and founder of Kith, Ronnie Fieg. Aptly called 8th Street, the collection embraces the energy of New York City’s 1990s shoe scene. Its made with high quality materials paired with interesting colorways that enhance the collection’s modern-retro aesthetic.

Drop by the Clarks store to discover the full collection and restock on the classics.

In the Philippines, Clarks is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc., and is located at Central Square in Bonifacio High Street Central, SM Mall of Asia, TriNoma, Alabang Town Center, Glorietta, SM Megamall, Shangri-La Mall, and online at Trunc.ph, Zalora, Shopee and Lazada.
