Martin Bautista gives us a reason to celebrate
It's been said that clothes have the power to affect one's mood. If that rings true, Fashion Exchange International designer Martin Bautista most recent ready-to-wear collection is what we ought to be reaching for on the darkest days. The designer's last few presentations have trained us to expect color, texture and models swathed in yards of flowing silky fabric. True enough, his latest ready-to-wear designs gave us exactly what we were looking for.
Bright pinks and oranges coincided with soft purples and greens, all making for a color scheme befitting of the occasion (Martin presented his collection on his birthday!). Tulle-lined hems and layers, small floral embellishments and generous amounts of fringe elevated interesting pieces into scene-stealing numbers. Naturally, the gathered asymmetrical skirtārecognizably a Martin signatureāwas the common thread tying most of the looks together.
An ode to festivity and freedom, this collection isn't for the faint of heart.
