A euphoric and nostalgic collection inspired by the “Rainbow Rodeos” of the ‘70s
Fashion is often deemed an avenue for self-expression. Makeup hints feelings; moods are sometimes expressed through accessories; and, in common cases, the outfits we wear are curated looks that we want to speak what we can't ourselves.
True especially for the LGBTQIA+ community, fashion is one of the loudest ways to narrate individual experiences. Fashion as a form of art is used to tell stories, struggles and victories—which liberalizes proud members further and farther. At the heart of it all, fashion willingly lends a hand and ushers anyone to play and experiment towards self-discovery without any judgment.
In a nod to promote the power of fashion in self-expression, Levi’s introduces a new wardrobe collection that pays homage to the “Rainbow Rodeos” of the ‘70s. Reimagining the timeless pieces from its archives, it traces its roots back to the western rodeo culture of Nevada and added some glitz to bring euphoric fits for this year’s Pride month.
Classic pieces from the past are designed with rhinestones, copper thread, marbled hardware, gold-coated denim and more—making this a collection that lets anyone play, wear and express queer joy with sassy conviction.
Some of the pieces included in the collection are the Cinched Shortstack Tee, Cropped Muscle Tank, Liberation Western Trucker and Patchwork Vest that visually bring up the nostalgic rodeo scene through their western-inspired embroidery and rainbow colorways.
The line also features chill fits, such as the Pride Rainbow Rodeo Ringer Tank, Pride Muscle Tank and Pride Community Tee that go perfectly well with the other items in the collection.
Adding extra excitement to the overall look are the Pride Bandana, Icon Tote and Pride Essential Cap, and Rodeo Hat that evoke queer symbolisms in the subtlest but impactful ways.
