Designed for timeless wearability, the Camille Co x AVA The Brand collection features key pieces for women to dress up and down
For multi-hyphenate and fashionista Camille Co, the AVA The Brand woman is empowered and independent. With this in mind, she created an extensive collection in partnership with the homegrown fashion brand that features key pieces for women to dress up and down. From a sophisticated midi dress to an oversized boyfriend blazer, she hopes this AVA The Brand capsule will help women look and feel their best.
Camille is not only one of the OG fashion bloggers in the Philippines (shout out to those who have been around since her Lookbook and Chictopia days), but she’s also a fashion designer. In an Instagram post from 2018, she bid farewell to her brand CoExist as she entered a new chapter in her life—getting married and starting a family—but it seems that design is something that she’s just called to do.
In an exclusive interview with Wonder, Camille reveals, “I remember when Joni and I were about to get married and thinking about starting our family, I kept telling him talaga, ‘I don’t ever want to lose myself,’ because I think fashion is part of my identity. I will feel truly, truly sad if it’s not part of my life, that’s why it’s a conscious effort for me to make sure that fashion is really one of my main priorities when it comes to my career and life, in general.” She further adds, “It’s just something that’s so ingrained in me, no matter what stage I am in life. I feel like it’s something that will always be with me. Fashion is a language, and style is a tool I use to boost myself.”
Coming off her design background, Camille’s aware that as human as we are, women are susceptible to insecurities. When choosing clothing, we may not be comfortable showing off our arms or chest and so on. This helped her design timeless everyday staples that would flatter the body and make women feel empowered. “I personally use fashion as my confidence booster. I am not without insecurities. I feel that clothes can really make you look and feel good, and that’s what I want these clothes to do for other women as well. I want them to feel their best when they’re wearing our AVA x Camille collection,” she notes.
Spanning different generations of women, the team behind AVA The Brand consists of strong women. This made Camille immediately say yes to the collaboration, which to her, felt like “such a natural partnership.” She expounds: “I just feel that there’s nothing more powerful than women coming together. I really resonate with the brand and the founders of the brand.”
Her capsule pieces are named after some of her favorite women, her dearest friends in the industry: Laureen Uy, Patricia Prieto, Tricia Gosingtian, Lissa Kahayon and Nicole Andersson. Pieces are also named after her and her dear daughter, Sienna.

As a young mother, Camille’s relationship with fashion hasn’t really changed, but she admits to being more practical and efficient. She reveals, “I feel like my becoming a mom is not really a factor that I put into my style. I am totally against when people say, ‘You’re a mother now, you’re supposed to dress a certain way.’ No, because, you being a mother isn’t supposed to change who you are. Yes, it adds something to you, but your identity is still the same. Just because you’re at a new stage in your life [doesn’t mean] you’re supposed to change your likes and dislikes.” She adds, “I think it’s more about the things I learned from motherhood, like being more practical, being efficient. These are the things I consider now.”
On pieces from her AVA The Brand collection she would recommend for a beginner, Camille picks staples that you can wear with different things. “I would go for the blazer or the pants ‘cause I feel that these are very flattering pieces that you can dress up or dress down, and [are] very easy pieces to style. Always start with the basics!”
