Wonder Beauty Counter: October is About Big Beauty Brands, Triple-Purpose Deo and Online-Exclusive Bath Bombs

The stuff we’re smearing on our skin, soaking in our baths and stocking on our beauty counters for the month of October

Lo and behold, another big month in beauty. Like September is to fashion, October is widely recognized as beauty month—therefore it only makes sense that the incoming weeks are filled with new product drops and breakthroughs in the worlds of skincare, makeup and the rest of the beauty realm. Ahead, we give you a run down of some of October’s most exciting beauty-related news:

New in Deo

Our favorite trend this season isn’t one of the sartorial sort. While Milan Fashion Week served up its fair share of notable looks, our favorite shift in the system involves deodorant in a new, innovative form: deo serums. Similar to the Dove Deodorant Dry Serum we fell for back in August, Rexona’s Dry Deo Serum is potent and quick-drying (so fast that it dries two times faster than your typical deo). With whitening licorice extract and natural vitamin E, the serum keeps sweat, stench and underarm darkness at bay with an invisible, powdery smooth to boot.

Shiseido Has Landed

Shiseido officially opened its doors to the Philippine market in late September––an announcement that may prove puzzling to some. Chances are you’ve seen Shiseido products being sold in department store counters and online prior to the local launch, so what gives?

The establishment of Shiseido Philippines Corporation signals the start of many exciting shifts, the biggest being the concentrated efforts to expand the brands under Shiseido’s corporate umbrella in the Philippines. That’s right, it’s not just about the brand Shiseido itself. This move means big things for NARS, Laura Mercier, Senka and fragrances like Dolce & Gabbana, Elie Saab, Issey Miyake and Narciso Rodriguez. Sounds like plenty of new products to love, so we’re weighing in with our picks:

SHISEIDO VisionAiry Gel Lipstick

NARS Skin Deep Eye Palette

LAURA MERCIER Foundation Primer

SENKA Perfect Whip

NARCISO RODRIGUEZ For Her Eau de Parfum

Breaking: Lush is Online!

The phrase “perfect timing” has never been so apt. Just before the thought of holiday gifting can start stressing us out, Lush is swooping in to save the day. Already a go-to for Christmas present shopping, Lush makes dealing with our holiday gift lists even easier with the launch of their website where, yes, you can shop and ship to your heart’s delight. In the absence of the ultra-fragrant sniffables that we get to experience when visiting the brick-and-mortar Lush stores, the website instead serves up equally aromatic descriptions for every product to give you an idea of what your nostrils might be missing out on. There’s a run-down of the star ingredients in each product, too.

Equally as exciting? The selection of online-only bath bombs, perfumes and oils, all just a single click of a Check Out button away from earning a spot on your beauty counter.

LUSH Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds Bath Bomb, P395

LUSH Love Perfume, P1995

LUSH Golden Pear Bath Bomb, P395

Smear, soak and stock up on these covetables for October. Come on, celebrate beauty month like you mean it.
