We’re showcasing not only local beauty but brands all over the world in this month’s edition of Wonder Beauty Counter
October is such an exciting month for beauty! On this side of the world, we’re beaming with pride as homegrown brand Sunnies Face finally ships worldwide, introducing Filipino beauty all over. We’re even revisiting our K-beauty faves, thanks to SM Beauty’s growing range of brands. Beauty Bar introduces new clean beauty finds from all over the world, too.
Here’s everything you need to know from this month’s edition of Wonder Beauty Counter.
Sunnies Face goes global
The homegrown brand is now shipping worldwide
From the bestselling Fluffmattes that put the local beauty brand on the map to the good-for-your-skin Sunsafe, Sunnies Face’s range of products is now available direct-to-consumer internationally via sunniesface.com. The Allure Best of Beauty Award 2022 winner, beloved by celebrity makeup artists like Pati Dubroff, Hung Vanngo and Kali Kennedy, brings more recognition to Philippine beauty.
“When we started Sunnies Face, our goal was always to become a global brand and one that would be within everyone's reach,” shares co-founder Georgina Wilson. “Finally, after five years, we are able to open up Sunnies Face to the entire world and as Filipinos, it’s really exciting to share what Philippine beauty has to offer.”
Cop all your makeup and skincare favorites from anywhere in the world via sunniesface.com.
K-beauty craze at SM
More brands like Round Lab, W.dressroom and Clio are finally available
Gone are the days when we needed to pasabuy from our friends during their trips to Korea to restock our K-beauty faves. We even waited for weeks on end to cop skincare online through e-commerce websites like Althea Korea. So much has changed in the landscape of beauty in just a few years! In the recently concluded The Best of K-Beauty event at the SM Mall of Asia, more K-beauty brands like W.dressroom, Clio, Beauty of Joseon, Some by Mi and COSRX were showcased for Filipino beauty enthusiasts. We’re definitely entering our K-drama main character moment!
Which K-beauty brand do you want to see in the Philippines next?
Beauty Bar
The beauty collective introduces clean beauty finds from around the world. This time, the spotlight is on the UK and US
Beauty Bar continues to collaborate with global brands to cater to the needs of the beauty-loving men and women in the Philippines. From haircare to body care, skincare and cosmetics, the beauty collective offers the best in beauty while also making sure that these brands are environmentally conscious and sustainable.
This time, Beauty Bar spotlights Dr. Pawpaw from the UK and Bodyography from the US. Dr. Pawpaw, a household name in skincare, has just released a vegan line of cleansing balms, serums, day and night creams, and sheet masks that make one “look good, feel good and do good!” Safe even for sensitive skin, the British brand offers hardworking products that deliver results.
Meanwhile, Bodyography cosmetics are made with good-for-the-skin ingredients such as antioxidants, anti-aging superfoods and minerals that will make you look and feel your best! Vegan, free from parabens and gluten, the American beauty label is also certified by PETA as cruelty-free so you can enjoy their range of lipstick, creme blushes and more guilt-free.
The Body Shop
The Body Shop updates its bestselling, skin-saving range so you can feel in control
The Body Shop has just updated its number one skincare range, which has tea tree oil as its star ingredient, to improve efficacy. The result is a visible reduction of blemishes (which we can attest to having used the product during breakout season) so you can feel in control of your skin, even on unpredictable days.
The range features 11 products, including cleansers and treatments, shampoo and conditioner, for the ultimate blemish-busting routine. The improved Tea Tree lineup also boasts 90% natural ingredients and features a fresh and clean look made with recycled combinations of aluminum, glass and plastic.
Rejuran
Meet a new skin healer that activates the self-regenerative ability of skin
Rejuaran, a new concept healer, promises to make skin young-looking and naturally healthy through highly biocompatible polynucleotides derived from wild salmon. When delivered into skin at the right dose and frequency, it improves skin elasticity, fine lines, skin tone and texture. What makes it different? Rejuran activates skin’s self-regenerative ability to address concerns and promotes collagen production, thus making it among the safest aesthetic procedures.
Glow with St. Ives
The beloved beauty brand invites you to glow on with their cult classics
St. Ives has become a beauty counter staple for many men and women, starting with the St. Ives Apricot Scrub. Deep cleansing with 100% walnut shell powder, this beauty icon gives you soft, smooth and glowing skin. St. Ives Green Tea Scrub doesn’t fall far behind on the list of cult classics. It contains salicylic acid and bamboo powder to help unclog pores and calm skin redness.
St. Ives is made with 100% natural exfoliants and extracts, is cruelty-, oil- and paraben-free, dermatologist-tested and non-comedogenic.
Shop St. Ives 50g scrubs for only P99 (original price is at P129) on Lazada from October to December 2023.
