PARADISE RISING’s songstress starts the year strong with Valorant and Ylona Garcia with Entertain Me
Ylona Garcia is on a roll.
The 19-year old singer welcomed her debut with PARADISE RISING by releasing All That and followed it up with Don’t Go Changing. And despite only having two singles out, Ylona completed a stellar set at 88rising’s Head In The Clouds 2021 music festival, proving that the only way she’s going is up. And now, she kicks off 2022 with a bang by releasing Entertain Me.

Co-written and produced by Australian duo DNA, Entertain Me is a synth-pop anthem sure to get anyone and everyone on their feet. The addictive backbeat, booming brass sounds and infectious chorus harmonize perfectly with Ylona’s lyrics that assert her independence. Entertain Me fills you with enough confidence, making it the perfect soundtrack for a year we are claiming to conquer.
The cherry on top? Ylona dropped Entertain Me in partnership with Valorant to launch the game’s newest agent, Neon. Neon's one hotly anticipated character, described as a “lightning-fast” agent hailing from Manila. Despite being one of the youngest ones there, Neon can “outpace the rest of the roster,” “shocking the competition” and “slide straight to a fight.” The teaser dropped hints about her heritage with the Taglish dialogue and a seemingly cropped Ylona Garcia poster. Filipinos are definitely proud to see our culture represented in the game, especially in a title as large as Valorant.

If anything, both Ylona’s and Neon’s personalities collide in this one-of-a-kind partnership. Independent and ready to shake the world, these two look like parallels. Ylona and Neon are two forces to be reckoned with as they rock their respective spheres at a tender age. Plus, they have the talent and skill to surprise spectators at each turn. Now that’s what we call a kindred spirit.
As she opens the year with this collaboration, we can’t help but think that 2022 is already looking up for Ylona Garcia. Up next? Well, Ylona’s got her sights on taking over the global stage, and we can’t wait for what else she has in store.
