Bumble presents a new Speed Dating game, a Compliments feature and more
Swiping fatigue can get to even the best of us. Navigating the battlefield of modern romance—from the case of the inevitable ghosting to the tricky FWB sitch of hookup culture—requires next-level (emotional, mental and physical) maturity. Now if you’re thinking of taking a hiatus and quitting the pursuit of head-over-heels love via the apps, this suite of new features on Bumble will make you think twice.

Speed Dating
Every Thursday at 7PM, Bumble users get free access to “blind” Speed Dating—yep, no need to pay for a Premium account! Get to know one user after another for three minutes and decide if you want to keep the conversation going after the time is up. If you’re tired of waiting days to get a response from a match, this “fast talk” type of game allows people to be more chatty and intentional. Just be sure to have questions ready—other than the super gasgas “How are you?”
Here’s a catch: you only see a person’s profile once you match (and a sneak peek of what they look like) so it strays away from the very surface-level aspect of dating.
Compliments
I mean, who doesn’t love giving and receiving compliments? If words of affirmation are your love language, you’ll love this new feature on the women-first and women-led dating app. Give Bumble members a compliment via a short note even without matching. This allows you to stand out in a sea of users.
Comment on their travel photo or their dog; there’s a statistically increased likelihood of matching!
Recommend to a Friend
If you want to play matchmaker for your best friends, Recommend to a Friend allows users to send over a profile and help other people make new connections. I mean, they might not be right for you but they could just be the perfect fit for someone else! Can you imagine the wedding speech already?
Self-care and Mental Health Badges
This Mental Health Awareness Month, Bumble adds a suite of Interest Badges and Profile Prompts spotlighting mental wellness. Prompts include “My mental health game changer was…” and “I’m prioritizing my mental health by..,” as well as six Lifestyle Badges focused on self-care, such as “Therapy,” “Mindfulness,” “Deep Chat,” “Nutrition,” “Sleeping Well” and “Time Offline.”
