#kumuPride2021: A Wonderful Month Filled With Color

A month filled with color is happening with kumu Pride 2021!

FOMO might be getting to us as more concerts, festivals and parades worldwide are ready to get back on their feet. Some are already happening. Meanwhile, on our side of the planet, we’re a year and a half into quarantine. The digital realm is the safest and best meeting ground for everyone, but is also an opportunity seized to reach more audiences.

Filipino live streaming platform kumu is celebrating #kumuPride2021 with a lineup of exciting events that empowers and amplifies queer voices this Pride Month. The app is known for cultivating a safe space and a protective community that all forms of hate, trolls and toxicity don’t have an avenue to make themselves known. #kumuPride2021 lets you immerse yourself in a community event and gives another platform for you to wear your colors, personality and identities loudly and proudly.

Pride, next to it being a protest, is an avenue for self-expression. For those who want to show the world who they are, you can use kumu Klips to do so. Express yourself in any way by uploading a video of you doing your own thing. Participating videos have a chance to be featured in the kumu Pride 2021 promotional video, and participants get a chance to win 100,000 kumu coins, too. What are you waiting for? Part of celebrating Pride and remembering is supporting and consuming content by our queer brothers and sisters. From Monday to Friday at 2PM, tune in to watch fabulous drag queens, makeup artists and LGBTQIA+ content creators do their thing over at kumu’s Spotlight channel. During the show, viewers get to chat with the featured live streamers about their art, self-expression, the cause and more.

kumu is also closing Pride Month with their own virtual Pride March. On June 25th, TGI-Pride Day will be taking over the app. Educational, entertainment and kwentuhan streams are free for everyone’s viewing that day to let everyone learn more about SOGIE, Beki culture and more. To end the night with a bang, the Kumunity Stage will also be throwing an official Pride March party. Look forward to live performances, guest DJs and drag queens at the closing show of TGI-Pride Day.
