Live Nation acquires MMI and appoints Rhiza Pascua as Managing Director
With restrictions slowly loosening up, we’re all ready to experience live music again. The music industry may have quickly adapted to the times and turned virtual, but there’s nothing quite like seeing your favorite acts in person and gathering with other fans.
“Artist-powered, fan-driven.” The world’s leading live entertainment company, Live Nation, expands into the Philippines, through the groundbreaking, strategic acquisition of Music Management International (MMI). To further the launch of Live Nation Philippines, MMI CEO and founder, Rhiza Pascua, has been appointed to the role of Managing Director.
Since MMI’s inception three decades ago, the company has been the leading promoter in the Philippines, working diligently with the biggest artists—like One Direction, Madonna, Coldplay, U2, Harry Styles and Bruno Mars—to convince them to tour Manila. The company has played a big role in putting the country firmly on the global touring map of Asia, promoting the most sold out concerts in the territory.
President of Live Nation Asia Pacific, Roger Field, is elated with this expansion. He reveals, “Rhiza is a formidable operator and has put the Philippines firmly on the global touring map. We have a long-standing and successful relationship with MMI, and the launch of Live Nation Philippines is the natural next step in our committed growth in the Asia Pacific region. MMI adds another part to our network and our vision to deliver exceptional live entertainment experiences to music fans and more opportunities for artists to grow their audience across the world.”
“Over the years, MMI has delivered industry-leading, world-class services to attract the biggest and best talent to the Philippines. Through the launch of Live Nation Philippines, the sky’s the limit, and we look forward to bringing even more of the globe’s biggest stars and connecting fans with the artists they love and the magic of live,” Rhiza Pascua, Live Nation Philippines’ Managing Director shares.
With Live Nation finally in the Philippines, we’re looking forward to more international acts touring the country. Who do you want to see next?
