Let’s put your knowledge to the test
On September 21, Hamilton will have its opening night in Manila at The Theater At Solaire. The Broadway piece penned by Lin Manuel Miranda has become pop culture lore. Unlike its predecessors like Les Miserables, Cats and The Phantom Of The Opera, Hamilton speaks to a different generation. It’s more like Rent than anything else: it’s quick, witty and modern—and we’re excited to see it unfold on a live stage.
But before the curtains open, the question is: are you ready for it? Watching a play, after all, isn’t like watching a film; it’s best when you know a little bit about the story ahead of time. It’s best experienced when you already know the lyrics to some of the songs. Because especially with something as quickly sung-and-rapped as Satisfied, you’ll need all the time in the world to keep up. (You don’t want to get stuck wondering what the great Angelica Schuyler is saying.)
So here it is: Are you ready to sing along to “Hamilton” in Manila?
