“Howl’s Moving Castle” is the next and last Ghibli film to be immortalized in Loewe creations
January proves to be a good time to be Studio Ghibli fans and fashion enthusiasts; the luxury brand just announced its third and final collaboration with the animation studio. This time around, Howl’s Moving Castle receives the JW Anderson treatment through an upcoming capsule collection. And much like the Studio Ghibli fans around the world, I’m already adding this to my wishlist.

Expect the Loewe capsule collection to consist of ready-to-wear pieces, bags for keeps and adorable accessories featuring our favorite characters and scenes from Howl’s Moving Castle. After all, how could they miss the fan-favorite Howl and his different forms? We’ll also get to rep the adorable teardrop flame Calcifer (because who wouldn’t want that) and even Madame Suliman’s pooch, Hin.

Following from the trails of the brand’s collaborations with Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro, this team-up with Howl’s Moving Castle definitely celebrates Studio Ghibli’s power to bring child-like wonder to people of all ages. Combining this with Loewe’s expertise and craftsmanship in fashion, the legacy gets immortalized in different wearable pieces. While we’re all rejoicing that Howl finally gets his time in the spotlight, the news still brings a bittersweet feeling. This slightly pains many because the world also needs a Kiki’s Delivery Service collection. But alas, all good things must come to an end—this magical duo included.
