This February, our music list consists of songs to groove and slow dance to
Welcome back to Wonder Fresh! If our favorite music videos of the month highlight the best scenes this love month, our monthly music list focuses on tracks that make us move.
If there’s one romantic cliché that never gets old, it has to be dancing with the love of your life. May it be in the style of Taylor Swift’s dancing in front of the refrigerator light or just swaying to your song, it’s a wholesome and intimate moment; one that lets the world disappear and lures you into forgetting the rest of it. As we round up love month this February, we round up suave rhythms bound to get you moving in this music list. Whether it’s to accompany you through errands-turned-dance sessions or a bout of bonding, we’ve got a song for you.

Eddie Benjamin’s Weatherman opens the playlist, a funky old-school track overflowing with optimism. Its upbeat snare beats, sharp piano chords and Benjamin’s addictive hooks will have you looking forward to a sunny day. Next, Salem ilese comes in hot with PS5 featuring Yeonjun and Taehyun of K-pop boy band Tomorrow X Together. The electronic pop track with a dash of Latin influences will have you moving and grooving while you cheekily ask the Gen Z question, “Me or the PS5?”

Silk Sonic then tapers down the mood with Love’s Train, entirely in line with their smooth and sensual discography. Bruno Mars’ powerful vocals and Anderson Paak’s cheeky lines paired with their snazzy instrumental will have you swooning into the arms of your lover. Keep grooving to the syncopated rhythm of Toro y Moi’s The Loop. As much as the lyrics talk about catching up on headlines, the Filipino-American’s sound will have you wanting to stay in the loop with what your lover’s up to.

Elephante continues to bring us to the softer side of love month with the acoustic version of Holy Ghosts. The track narrating the empty streets of Los Angeles at the peak of the pandemic hits a bit harder in this version. While you and your lover get real on things that have changed, at least you have each other. Omar Apollo and Daniel Caesar keep the same energy with Invincible, a rhythmic track led by percussions and a smooth bass line. Sink into reminiscing about better times to the smooth 808s of the song, maybe even sneak in a few stress-releasing bops while you get chores done with your S.O.

South Korean soul singer DeVita closes the playlist with Bonnie & Clyde, a soulful ballad off her new EP, American Gothic. DeVita explores a different reason why she stays through the dynamic of the notorious couple. It’s a saccharine-sweet ballad best for quiet, slow dances.
