Rep Pride Even After June With Levi’s Pride Month Collection

Celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community’s strength, history and creativity

Levi’s has consistently and proudly shown up for the LGBTQIA+ community. This year, the brand celebrates their strength, history and creativity by blending inspirational and educational storytelling. Through this campaign, they invite fellow members of the community and their allies to answer the question, “How do you show up?”

The collection recognizes self-expression as a spectrum, both non-binary and fluid. The lavender hue in key pieces is an ode to the LGBTQIA+ activist groups from the ‘70s and ‘90s, whose fearlessness brought an explosive energy to the movement mirrored by queer and trans youth of the present. Levi’s recognizes that their iconic silhouette, the 501, has been worn as a symbol of protests, solidarity and self-expression. From becoming the symbol of hypermasculinity in the biker culture of the 50s, denim jeans have since then become a versatile piece that straddles the lines between genders.

But more than offering the community collections that help in self-expression, Levi’s also made sure to be present during local Pride Month celebrations. The brand was spotted in Pride PH’s LoveLaban festival in the Quezon City Memorial Circle with their first-ever Pride Bus. Here, festivalgoers got to experience DIY placard painting, shirt printing and tailor shop customization services.

Rep your advocacies during Pride Month and beyond when you shop the collection in-store or online via the official Levi’s Philippines website.

Melissa and Jean Paul Gaultier mark 40 years of collaboration with a limited-edition capsule

Bring out the best of your punk love with this collection

In 1983, four years after Melissa’s founding, the Brazilian brand teamed up with Jean Paul Gaultier to create a sneaker with an open design. Fast-forward to 2023, when the two pioneering brands in spirit and originality come together to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their continuous partnership. This time, with a limited-edition capsule collection.

Two new models bring forth a brand new appreciation for the punk love aesthetic. The Melissa Punk Love Pump, developed by Jean-Vincent Simonet, combines spike embellishments and softer colorways, drawing influences from romantic gothic, light punk and 80s-era hardcore. Meanwhile, the Melissa Becky reinterprets the shoe brand’s classic platform into Gaultier’s L’Enfant Terrible aesthetic gaze. The metallic spike embellishments tether it to punk influences. Both come in classic black and more romantic colorways such as pink, white and lilac.

To celebrate this milestone, Levi’s brought out the whole shebang with the 501 Experience at the SM Mall of Asia Central Atrium. Apart from that, modern 501 spin-offs will hit Levi’s shelves, such as a cropped 501 Original for Women, the 501 Original and 501-inspired shorts in different colorways.

Casio G-SHOCK series get a tough new addition

Peep the new member of the G-SHOCK Recrystallized Series

G-SHOCK Recrystallized Watches in Gold, Black and Silver
G-SHOCK Recrystallized Watches in GMW-B5000PG (P66,530), DW-5040PG (P25,510) and GMW-B5000PS (P64,680)

In celebration of G-SHOCK’s 40th anniversary, Casio Computer Co., Ltd announces new additions to the G-SHOCK Recrystallized Series. The GMW-B5000PS and GMW-B5000PG watches are made tougher, utilizing a process that hardens the stainless steel in deeper layers. The procedure infuses gas into the surface of the steel to create a hard layer, which strengthens the material itself instead of hardening it from the outside.

Casio also launched the DW-5040PG, a watch with a dial engraved with “PROJECT TEAM ‘Tough,’” as an ode to the team that developed the first G-SHOCK. This reissue of the original design also uses steel that underwent the specific hardening process on its metal components, such as the back, buckle, band loop and more—guaranteed to withstand even more impact.

Shop the tough new watches in any G-SHOCK stores nationwide.

Amandla Stenberg and Brandon Flynn front Calvin Klein’s Let It Out campaign

Celebrate Pride with sensual self-expression

Calvin Klein releases Let It Out, their Pride month campaign celebrating the collective joy of the LGBTQIA+ community. Kraim Sadli shot Amandla Stenberg and Brandon Flynn this year, donning the 2023 This Is Love collection. The two actors loudly and proudly express their most authentic selves on camera as they wear fluid pieces that suit anyone. Rainbow palettes and bold color-blocking appear on waistbands, letting the wearers show off their pride with a flash.

But more than just releasing a collection, Calvin Klein pledges support for the LGBTQIA+ community all year round. The brand has committed $220,000 to non-profit organizations, such as PFLAG National, ILGA World, Transgender Law Center and more in 2023. Calvin Klein Australia and the PVH Foundation also donated $55,000 to BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation this year. Calvin Klein also approaches these partners to provide the company and its associates with resources that empower them to become better advocates and allies for the movement.
