Manifest the romance you desire this 2024 with these tips from Bumble in collaboration with Feng Shui expert Cliff Tan

At the start of every year, we strive to leave the past behind and aspire to have fresh, exciting experiences—romance included; and that’s why Bumble invites you to manifest new love this 2024. As the Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day are fast approaching, it’s the perfect time to make way for the romance you desire. In collaboration with Feng Shui expert Cliff Tan (@dearmodern on TikTok), Bumble presents six Feng Shui tips to welcome new romance into your life.

Arrange your mind before your space
You’ve probably heard of the age-old saying that you can only love someone else when you've first learned to love yourself. As a start, create a sitting area in your room where you can take breaks. Here, you can take some time to discover your own needs and wants. After all, Feng Shui is all about making your environment work for you so that your surroundings can support your mental well-being.
Strike a balance through furniture
Love is the coming together of people, and this requires balance. Create this sense of balance by rearranging your furniture. Make sure you leave a space on both sides of your bed and place bedside tables with table lamps on each side. If there isn’t enough room to place the bed in the center, you can do so in a corner but have items represent a space for two, such as a loveseat or two chairs.
Make space, literally
The only way someone can enter your life is if you make space for them—literally. Declutter and organize your room so that you’re ready to take in new things and new people. A tidy room will allow positive energy to flow freely and stay within your space.
Set the right atmosphere with lighting
Once you have a clean room, the next step is to set the ambiance. Avoid harsh overhead lights or naked bulbs. Instead, use indirect and soft lighting or even candles to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that might make you think of love.
Pro-tip: Pink is a color that works well so you may choose this hue when buying salt lamps, bedding and accessories.
Create a “Love Corner”
Of course, part of manifesting is visualizing what you desire. And what better way to do that than by having a special corner to display things that remind you of the beauty of love? In Feng Shui, a “Love Corner” is placed deep inside your room, away from the entrance yet still visible from your bed, where you can place objects that symbolize love. Traditional items include mandarin ducks, a rose crystal and flowers. But feel free to use anything that makes you think of love!
Embrace freshness
Lastly, when it comes to welcoming fresh love, you have to ensure that both your physical and mental spaces are fresh, too! Just like how you would spring clean your home for Lunar New Year, opening yourself up to romance also means letting go and removing items that don’t serve you anymore. Even if they are sentimental things, remove photos, gifts and other things that hold memories of your ex and store them away. A fresh and neutral space, clear of the heaviness of the past, will definitely help you move forward and start anew this 2024.
