K-Pop Music Videos to Add to Your Holiday Playlist

Feel the Christmas spirit with these K-pop music videos

Let’s be real: Christmas wouldn’t be the same without music. Familiar tunes usher in the holiday season and make us feel various emotions, ranging from nostalgia to pure joy. As a K-pop stan and Christmas-lover, though, nothing beats watching and listening to various holiday-themed K-pop songs during this time of the year.

Whether you’re already a stan or you just want to listen to something new, there are a lot of Christmas-themed K-pop songs—from cheerful melodies to beautiful ballads—out there. So if you’re hoping to feel the Christmas spirit the K-pop way, make sure to add these music videos (recommended by me and my friends) to your holiday playlist!

“Christmas EveL” by Stray Kids

Let’s start things off with something energetic, shall we? Christmas EveL is not your typical holiday-themed music video. It begins with a news segment stating that Santa Claus lost his voice and hired someone else to distribute gifts to children across the world. Guess who Santa’s substitutes are? Stray Kids themselves! Overall, Christmas EveL is out of the box, chaotic and hilarious. You’d never know what to expect next but the thing is, Stray Kids makes it work. The next thing you know “Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad. I can feel the evil coming but Felix? Never bad” is already stuck in your head.

“Beautiful Christmas” by Red Velvet x aespa

Christmas is indeed a beautiful season and, for a lot of us, it’s our favorite time of the year. Beautiful Christmas is a feel-good song that features snippets of our favorite Christmas tunes like Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Gloria. The music video brings together two well-loved girl groups, Red Velvet and aespa, who are serving us both visuals and vocals. Plus, their fits are so fashionable, too! All in all, it’s definitely a joy seeing both groups sing, dance and have fun together.

“Candy” by NCT Dream

NCT Dream’s Candy is a reinterpretation of K-pop boy band H.O.T’s song of the same title, which was released way back in 1996. The music video starts with the members working and having fun in a—you guessed it—candy factory! Candy is a cute and funky song, with a bright and colorful music video to complement it, that will surely get you smiling and dancing during the holidays. Unless you look closely though, you’d never guess that the lyrics are actually about breaking up but, oh well, all is forgiven as NCT Dream asks cutely anyway.

“Funky Glitter Christmas” by NMIXX

Girls just wanna have fun, amirite? With an aesthetic that is reminiscent of the Y2K era, NMIXX’s Funky Glitter Christmas is a colorful, cheerful and celebratory song that will surely make you remember all the fun you’ve had in your childhood. The music video is truly all sorts of funky, glittery and magical, while showcasing that NMIXX does indeed shine brighter together!

“Power of Love” by SEVENTEEN

Power of Love AKA Ainochikara is actually part of K-pop group SEVENTEEN’s Japanese releases. It features the members in beautiful stills, interacting with different elements of nature. This healing and calming ballad by SEVENTEEN feels like a tight hug as it talks about the warmth that love provides in contrast to the coldness of the world, reminding us that love truly conquers all.

“The Best Thing I Ever Did” by TWICE

TWICE’s The Best Thing I Ever Did is a sweet song that showcases the members’ beautiful vocals and harmonies. The music video showcases the members having fun as they go on different adventures and try various activities—from watching movies and playing with snow to enjoying warm drinks together at home. The Best Thing I Ever Did is a sweet song that will make you smile during the holidays!

“Christmas Tree” by V of BTS

You may already be familiar with Christmas Tree as it’s part of the original soundtrack of the well-loved K-drama, Our Beloved Summer. Kim Taehyung, also known as V of BTS, sings a romantic and heartfelt ballad about falling in love. You can’t help but fall in love with V as well as his comforting, soothing and soft voice, too!

“Memory” by Mamamoo

Bring back good ol’ Christmas memories with Mamamoo’s Memory. The music video showcases an intimate Christmas celebration, with the members doing various activities at home like drawing, eating cake, wrapping gifts and making Christmas cards. This beautiful and heartwarming song will surely make you feel at home during the holidays, no matter where you may be and who you’re celebrating it with.

“Miracles in December” by EXO

EXO’s Miracles in December is a nostalgic ballad sung by three members of the group’s vocal line namely: Chen, Baekhyun and D.O. But instead of singing about falling in love for the first time, the song is about wanting to go back to a specific person, with storylines featuring other EXO members. The members’ beautiful voices and harmonies will surely make you feel emotional during the holidays.

“This Christmas” by Taeyeon

Last but not least, a song from the queen herself, Taeyeon, the main vocalist of Girls’ Generation or SNSD. Aside from showcasing Taeyon’s sweet and angelic voice, the music video centers around the bond of a father and daughter through the years, specifically during the holidays. This Christmas is a sad and heartfelt song that will surely leave you teary-eyed. So here’s to making the most out of the holidays to make our loved ones feel appreciated!
